‘Localist’ is a mobile app that connects adventurous advise seekers looking for extraordinary local experiences, with the people who know where to find them.
Problem
When traveling it’s hard to find off-the beaten path & special recommendations that are not paid advertisements. Searching social media has a point of view, but is time-consuming and is not in real-time. Large e-commerce sites feel toursity and broad.
My Role
My role as a product designer I saw a gap in the travel industry for procurring interesting content that is useful in real-time. My goal was to disrupt how travel content was being showcased to the user and create a new and exciting experience that would engage the user.
Assumption
Travelers are looking for special curated experiences from locals who share the same likes and interests.
Target Market
The Bleisure Traveller –
Someone who mixes business with pleasure. Typically are millenials who travel often for work and will extend a business trip for a long weekend.
